Scenes Around Boulder in October

Saturday morning driving into Boulder.  The university campus is clearly in view.

This is looking west down Arapahoe Avenue from Foothills Parkway.

Heading west on Canyon Blvd into the Rockies is a 17 mile drive to the town of Nederland, CO.  Unbelievable scenic beauty.

I was on a quest to get to Barker Reservoir which is the source of all drinking water in Boulder.  It's also where the Boulder Creek is born.   These pics' at about an elevation of 9,000 feet. Almost a half mile higher than Boulder which makes it easy for water to flow down hill.

Downtown Nederland is very small.  But one interesting site is this old steam powered shovel.  This was actually used to help build the Panama Canal.

After seeing the source, it was back down the mountain.  The road runs alongside Boulder Creek.  Had to stop and see it.   The water is so clear and cold.  Couldn't resist.  Had to taste it.  Delicious!  Pure and clean.  Just like melted snow, which is basically what it is.

Back in the town of Boulder, I got stuck in traffic by a mob of Occupier protestors.
