Corn Just Days Away From First Taste

Lots of rain this week helped all the plants at Jardin de Campamento re-energize.   The corn is visibly sprouting fruit now.

First grilled corn should be ready in about 2 weeks.  But 3 big hurdles coming up.

• I leave for a 6 day trip and Santa Ana winds are in the forecast. These could flatten all the plants.
• A heat wave is coming with 90+ temps most of the week.
• Corn attracts other animals.  Ravens, possums, and racoons all would enjoy a sweet snack.  Mom, with one good leg, won't be able to get out there to shoo any of these off.
