Move In Day - NYC

The transfer from Columbia to Marymount Manhattan is complete.  Move in day finally arrived.

That was one long flight to JFK.  Even a full assortment of dozens of movies and tv shows on the personal entertainment video screen couldn't keep everyone awake.

Once we got a good nights sleep it was off to see the school on the 6 subway train.

Here she is at the main entrance of MMC.

School colors are sky blue and white (and they even have a mascot - the Griffins)

Crossing Third Ave and 55th Street.  Sel's dorm is one half block to the right of the red sculpture.

The Lipstick Building at 53rd and 3rd.  Once the home of Bernie Madoff's offices.

Enough walking.  Time for a ride on the MTA bus to lunch.

Right across the original Madison Square and the Flat Iron building.

Lunch at Mario Batali's Eataly.  An assortment of cheeses and hams.

Apartment 1203 and first glimpse of the room.  Not much of a view and a little odd on the furnishings.  Note the rocking desk chair and the bunk bed over the desk and dresser.

And there's a full 2 1/2 feet of closet space per person!  And no door.

After coming back from lunch it was time for some redecorating.  First came dropping the bed to floor level.

Final chance to say goodbye at the hotel elevator.

Mom and Dad had a chance for a foodie experience at Katz's Deli.  See the circular sign marking the spot where Harry Met Sally filmed the "I'll have what she's having" scene.

Pastrami doesn't get much better than this.
