Winter Break Ends for Selena

Jan 15 - Mom's birthday landed on the same day that Selena had to go back to school.  We were all up before dawn to take her to the airport.   And of course, Selena's favorite breakfast companion, Twinkie, was up with us as well.   Just 100 or so days until summer break.

Emily Cheers On

January 13 - Selena finally has a chance to see Emily in action.  Because someone needed to pick up Grandma at the train station we needed two cars.  Selena "volunteered" to drive DOD (Dear old Dad) to the gymnasium.  The game was exciting as always and Emily was in her usual good form.   Let's Go Blue!

Tale of Two Taylor's

Feb 4 - Chicago hosted a mini-OCHSA reunion as Taylor French and Taylor M. both came into town to visit Columbia College.   Selena and Danielle played great hosts in showing them all around the must-see sites. 

First big snow of 2012 - Chicago

January 20 - Not as bad as previous winters, but at least some snow finally arrives for the new year.  These shots are from Selena's dorm and her walk around the area.

Almost as rare as the snow is a Justin Bieber sighting.  Not quite sure he's that much taller than Selena.

Selena Meets The Wanted

January 26 - Selena gets a big break and gets asked to assist with providing clothing for The Wanted for their Chicago performance.  She got the chance to work on this project in her role as an intern at Bloomingdales.  She spent the afternoon at the venue and got to meet all the boys in the band.  But she missed the show because she had class that night.  No photos were allowed while she was there, but this link posted on You Tube at least shows what the band was wearing that night.

Annual Disneyland Visit

January 7 - Perfect weather and perfect timing now that the holiday travelers have left town.  Emily's annual birthday trip finally happened.   The new Star Tours was the first place we visited; 3 times before the day was done.  Even got to ride the Matterhorn before they shut it down for refurbishment.  A happy day at the happiest place.
